What and how you’ll learn
The course is made up of 10 sections. These guide you through your study of contemporary social, political and cultural issues, such as the modern family, the impact of new technologies, cultural heritage and regional identity, immigration and integration. The course includes a set film and book: Volver, written and directed by Pedro Almodóvar, and La Casa de Bernarda Alba by Federico García Lorca, both influential and interesting works.

Each section has important features designed help you learn and prepare for the examination:

  • clear step-by-step study guidance and practice to help you meet the requirements of the specification
  • an e-book with audio clips of the essential textbook AQA A level Spanish by José Antonio García Sánchez, Tony Weston and Mike Thacker (Hodder Education 2016), included as part of the course
  • online quizzes and a tutor-marked assignment at the end of each section. The course has 10 tutor marked assignments plus an introductory assignment which give you the opportunity for individual support and guidance from your tutor on your spoken and written work
