Exploring your own creativity and interest in the arts can help you to develop your skills and confidence, open up new opportunities to earn a living doing something you love, or simply enrich your life.
NEC’s five creativity and the arts courses have been designed to help you develop your own practice as an artist or writer, whilst discovering more about the fascinating world of art and writing.
Art Techniques helps you to develop your own drawing and painting skills through examining different artistic methods and practice.
By studying Art History, you’ll learn about major figures, movements and developments in the art world from the 15th century to the present day. You’ll learn about the historical context in which these art works were created, and develop your understanding of how art reflects the times we live in.
If writing is your creative passion, you can choose from three courses which will help you to develop your style and produce professional, polished and well-structured pieces of writing. You’ll explore your own creative potential – and can choose a course designed to help you write for a living.
When you become an NEC student, you’ll be supported by one of our expert NEC tutors. As well as being a qualified teacher with experience of assessing and tutoring online learners, your tutor will have experience of working in the creative field of your chosen course.
